People always say, what are you gonna do when your back is up against the wall”, but i say what you gonna do when you down and counted out?Tie My Hands (featuring Robin Thicke) – Lil Wayne
“To My First Love”
I have loved you from the first time we were introduced. I didn’t know it then but I would soon find this out eventually. I knew I liked you but I didn’t know I would fall so hard. I remember when I shamed myself by stepping out on you with a mistress. It didn’t take long for me to get hurt and thats all it took for me to know that wasn’t for me. You took me back after that with no hesitation, and for that I Love You. But, I took your love for granted and you quickly let me know. If I didn’t give you the time you needed you had your way of not showing up when I wanted you to. But you must have remembered the days I would walk mile just to be with you; because you would always show up when I needed you the most, and have stuck with me for years. Even thru the hard times, when I thought you would leave me, you stayed always showing up in clutch. I Love You for knowing my heart, Knowing I would do anything to have you in my life. I gave my body to you on several occasions and would do it again at a moments notice. I Love You because no matter what I go through you are there. I can escape all my problems when with you, even if only for a brief moment of time. though you can be jealous, demanding your time; Its time that I gladly give to you. Whenever you call me I will be there. You have given me so much in my life and I must say thank you. Because of you I have made it through four years of college, my future is bright, and the sky is the limit. If one day we are not able to physically be together, you will always be in my heart. You are my first love and nothing will ever take your place. you have my heart forever!!
I Love you because you are “The Game”, because you are “My Game”,
because you are simply
Many times people go through life not realizing that living life on TRUTH alone will be a life of hardship and confusion. It is often believed that living an honest life will keep them out of harm’s way, avoiding difficult situations. This is far from REALITY; the concept seems confusing I know, and it slightly is, but I will attempt to explain.
A majority of people try to live a truthful and honest life based on their own personal code of ethics and morals. These ethics and morals have been engraved in cultures for years differentiating between right and wrong, good and bad, what is accepted and what is not, through various religions. I am not here to talk about religion or what is right in life or what is wrong simply because in different cultures what is taboo varies greatly. What I am addressing is the assumption that if you simply live by your cultures code of ethics that you will live a life free from the criticism of peers. I am also addressing the assumption that what others think about you and their criticisms are not important as long as you are truly doing, the so called, “right thing”. Now that you know the issue let me start at the root of the problem. If you did not know we live in reality! Before you just read over that line here it is again. WE LIVE IN REALITY!
Everyone like it or not lives in reality. Some pride themselves in living in reality not knowing what it really is. You always hear about keeping it real; you probably hear once a week someone make a statement such as “I like to keep it real”, or “I’m the realist person you know”. But what is REAL? What is Reality? Dictionary.com defines Reality as, “the state or quality of being real; resemblance to what is real”. Now with that being said there is one key to the whole definition which is where most people mess up in life. The phrase “resemblance to what is real” is where “keeping it real” becomes cloudy and misleading. See this means that “Real” is directly more related to “Truth” than it is actually related to “reality”. How is this? You know I am going to explain.
Truth as defined by dictionary.com is, “the true and actual state of a matter”. See the truth never changes regardless of the perception. But the problem with truth is we do not live in truth alone; we live in reality. One of the best quotes in reference to the subject matter is this:
“Reality is not how you see yourself or a situation or even the truth; Reality is how others see you or a situation and what they accept as the truth”
This means the perception of others is highly important. Some may argue that, if this is true what you think about yourself and they way you think about any situation does not matter. (Well ladies and gentlemen THAT IS RIGHT!) What you think will not matter unless you can convince others to view a situation or YOU the same way that you do.
Perception is everything, and is so closely related to reality that it often is reality. The reason perception is so closely related to reality is simple. Perception is recognition and interpretation of sensory stimuli based chiefly on memory. (If you missed that keep reading, I am going to break down the whole word.) The word perception derives from the word perceive; which means to become aware of directly through any of the senses, especially sight or hearing. (WOW, I hope you got that, if not keep reading, it will all make sense soon.)
Let me put this into reality situations so that it makes sense. Nobody cares that “it’s not what it looks like” or that “you know what really happened”. It doesn’t matter if you are the only person that thinks that way. One of the dumbest statements that people say all the time is “I don’t care what others think I know what the truth is”. If you get anything from this let it be the “presentation, perception and Image is everything”. Carry yourself in a manner that represents excellence not only to you but to others as well. Remember to live in reality at all times and that living in a truthful reality often leads to great perceptions.
How do people perceive YOU?
